I have been contributing art to the Luna Press lunar calendar for over 40 years. It is "Dedicated to the Goddess in Her Many Guises." When I came across fabric with beaming moon faces, it sparked a series of what I call scrappy goddesses, figures of female strength and benevolence stitched from fabric and sometimes with pockets for little messages on paper.
This is just a small sample of ones I have sewn for various women in my life who inspire me greatly. And the one for poet laureate Julia Bouwsma wound up as the cover art for the Write Me Epistolary Poetry Project in which Julia and I exchanged mail filled with epistolary poems.
